Avril Lavigne slammed rumors that she's checking herself into rehab after announcing earlier this month that she's been battling a serious health issue, ABC News reported on Wednesday.
Two weeks ago, the "Complicated" singer, 30, told fans on Twitter that she was not feeling well and asked fans to keep her in their prayers.
But now she's coming forward to say her issues aren't drug-related.
"The rehab RUMORS are hilarious! The only thing I'm addicted to right now is Bing Crosby. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! and to all a goodnight!" she posted last night.
Lavigne has still not been specific about what she has fallen ill with, but fans have been supportive and started hashtags including #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayforAvril.
The news of the pop star's illness began when a fan Twitter account, Avril Lavigne Charts, posted a screenshot of a private message between them and Lavigne. The singer's rep said the screenshot was real, and in it Lavigne said she's been absent from events because she isn't feeling well, according to U.S. Magazine.
"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them [know] why I've been absent," she shared. "I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."
