“Battlefield” 4 executive producer Patrick Beck said in E3 an interview with Rev3 Games the game will be released on October 29 of this year, according to GamerSyndrome.com
The fourth installment of the Electronic Arts series will be one of the games available with the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The late October release gives gamers a chance to try out the game on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
During the interview with Rev3 Games’ Adam Sassler, Beck and Sassler discussed the multiplayer aspect of the game. Sassler asked about the game’s inclusion of 64 people in one multiplayer game and how “Battlefield 4” keeps all 64 gamers in the action.
“We have to limit the players in some way, like not being able to go into every single room, on every floor in every building,” said Beck. “We try to funnel the players to where the fun is.”
Beck gave an example of the “Conquest” mode in “Battlefield 4.” In this mode, teams have to take over certain control points. According to Beck, developers can control wondering gamers by putting the control points in strategic locations.
Another feature of multiplayer is the expansion to three nationalities—United States, Russian, Chinese.
Also, “Commander Mode,” from Battlefield 2142 is available in the fourth installment.
“Battlefield 4” marks the first time in the franchise that the game will take place in the future, 2020. You are Recker, a member of U.S. Special Operations and are working in a four-man unit called “Tombstone.”
