"American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips is off the market.
The 24-year-old "Home" singer proposed to his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell during the holidays. Phillips took to Facebook and Twitter Friday to post a selfie of him and his new fiancée smiling, while showing off her ring.
"My best Christmas surprise is happening," he wrote. "We're engaged yall!"
Blackwell posted a similar picture on her Instagram page, writing, "I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I've been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness. @phillphill."
Phillips and Blackwell met while volunteering at a women and children's shelter in 2009, and started dating before the singer began his "American Idol" journey for season 11. Blackwell, who is a nursing student, appeared in Phillips' "Home" video. She also joined the singer often on tour. In 2012, Phillips mentioned that Blackwell was a huge support system during his "American Idol" days.
"She was so excited for me and she helped me out a lot through this," Phillips gushed to E! News. "She's supported me throughout all of this. I love her to death!"
Phillips recently wrapped up his North American tour in support of his latest album, "Behind the Light," which featured the single, "Raging Fire." The singer will hit the road again in 2015.
