Are you ready for a crazy Season 4 of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta?" According to the latest rumors, producers just did a major shakeup and reportedly fired half the cast. Gossip site Media Take Out claims that several members were let go and one couple was offered their own spinoff show.
According to the site, Rasheeda, Kirk, Kalenna and Tony were fired and won't return for the upcoming season. Waka and Tammy also won't be back but that's because VH1 reportedly offered the couple their own show.
Sources also said Joseline Hernandez was suspended for four episodes because she got into a fight with several of her cast members during the Season 3 reunion show. Her pay will also be docked but she is set to return after the suspension.
According to MTO, Mimi Faust, Karlie Redd, Erica Dixon, Lil Scrappy, Bambi, Momma Dee, Stevie J, Erica Pinkett and Yung Joc will all return for Season 4. Nivea was added as a new cast member and sources told the site that Nikko will also return and he's bringing his wife along with him.
It was previously reported that Benzino and his fiancée Althea were fired because producers believe they caused the crazy reunion fight. During an interview with Vlad TV, creator Mona Scott Young explained that she believes Joseline was provoked during the taping.
"Benzino and Althea, I think, are very much aware of what transpired. I wish them nothing but the best," she said. "[I hope] the two have a wonderful wedding and beautiful life together and that they took full advantage of the opportunities reality TV can bring."
Most of the cast members alleged that drugs played a part in Joseline's violent behavior but Young said that she thinks there was a lot of off-camera drama that spilled onstage once filming resumed.
"What we witnessed was an explosion of pent up emotions that had been building based on interactions that had been happening on and off camera," Young said. "We only shoot for a finite period of time, so people only get to see what the production schedule will allow. There were a lot of things that transpired between that group off camera... Unfortunately for Joseline, she handled it in a less than tactful way... Everyone has their limits. That's not to excuse it, but it happened."
