It's a boy for Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz (real name Kasseem Dean). The couple welcomed their second child together on Saturday, Dec. 27. Keys happily announced the news on her Instagram page sharing a sweet photo of the newborn's footprints with the words "Happy Birthday" written across the top.
"The joy of joy is joy!! It's a boy! We are so grateful!! #blessings!!" she wrote on Instagram.
Keys and Beatz named their baby boy Genesis Ali Dean and revealed that he weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces. The pair is also parents to a 4-year-old son named Egypt. This is the second child for the "Fallin'" singer and the fifth for Beatz.
He has three other kids from previous relationships. Back in November Keys appeared on "The Wendy Williams Show" to promote her children's book Blue Moon: From the Journals of Mama Mae & LeeLee and dished on what it was like blending her family with Beatz's ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere.
"When everybody is able to be an adult, which we all are able to be, and we're able to recognize that actually there's a beautiful value about the way that we can all influence each other's lives and the lives of the kids so that they can really see that they can have more than one woman to look to and say, 'what can I learn here? What can I learn there?'" Keys said, according to Essence. "It's really, really important and I think it's so beautiful... it doesn't always work, but it's totally possible and it can work when everyone wants to do the right thing for the children and for each other."
The 34-year-old singer announced her second pregnancy back in July on her and Beatz's fourth wedding anniversary.
"Happy Anniversary to the love of my life @therealswizz!!" she wrote, including a photo of the couple. "And to make it even sweeter we've been blessed with another angel on the way!! You make me happier than I have ever known! Here's to many many more years of the best parts of life!"
