Forbes magazine named Jennifer Lawrence as its top grossing actor of 2014 on Friday.
The Huffington Post reported that Lawrence’s films, “Mockingjay” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” have brought in $1.4 billion at the box office worldwide.
Forbes said it predicts that number will rise even more because “Mockingjay” is still in theaters.
Last year Lawrence ranked tenth on the Forbes’ highest grossing actors list with $700 million, according to The Huffington Post.
Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Wahlberg and Chris Evans complete the top five of Forbes’ highest grossing actors list.
The new ranking comes in light of the Sony Pictures leaks which revealed that Lawrence was paid less than her male co-stars in the film “American Hustle.”
The Huffington Post said this information reflects the greater gender gap in income that persists throughout Hollywood.
According to Forbes, Jennifer Lawrence will not face the typecasting issue many franchise movie stars face when the last installment of “The Hunger Games” gets released next year.
Forbes said Lawrence has proven herself through her roles in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “American Hustle” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Her first post-”Hunger Games” role is in “Joy”, directed by David O. Russel, about a single mother who becomes an entrepreneur.
“Joy” is based on a true story.
