ISS: NASA's New Mobile App Will Keep You Informed And Entertained With 'Insider Access' To The International Space Station

Are you interested in learning more about the International Space Station?

Good! Because there's an app for that!

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration released a new mobile app, Space Station Research Explorer, which features "insider access" to ISS experiments with interactive modules. There are six categories to explore with a "connect the dots" timeline detailing how long an experiment has been in progress, according to SMN Weekly.

Don't feel like browsing through all the categories? You can search by sponsor or expedition to find photos, links and published papers.

The Facilities section of the app displays interior views of the Destiny, Kibo and Columbus modules of the station, according to SMN Weekly. The Benefits section features information on global education and human health benefits of the work done on the ISS. The Media section showcases videos, podcasts and games.

The app also provides links to other ISS-related sites.

The app is for both iPads and iPhones and is available at the iTunes store. You can preview it here.
