Pennsylvania Man Jailed Over Facebook Threats Against Police

A Pennsylvania man was arrested last Wednesday after he allegedly posted two threatening Facebook comments inciting violence against the police.

Steven Drake Jr., of Midway, is accused of writing the first hate-filled message on Dec. 20- hours after two New York City police officers were shot and killed while sitting in their police cruiser- according to the Observer-Reporter.

"We've given enough fair warning way beforehand!" Drake allegedly wrote. "We said stop the treason or else! Well they haven't stopped! For every action there is a reaction! We didn't do this! The police brought this on themselves!

"I say kill them all!" Drake allegedly wrote in the Dec. 20 post. He also mentions the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, who were fatally shot by police officers. The officers involved were later cleared from any possible charges.

The 29-year-old continued his Facebook rampage the next day when he posted a picture of an officer and wrote, "Can we exterminate him?" investigators said. McDonald police said the cop in the picture and other local police officers have not received any credible threats.

McDonald police were alerted to the posts last Monday when investigators in a nearby neighborhood received screenshots of the comments. Drake was questioned the next day and he admitted to writing the inflammatory posts, according to court records obtained by the Observer-Reporter.

The suspect said he "often posts anti-government and anti-police rhetoric" online and that he was drunk when he wrote the posts in question, according to court records.

Drake is now facing charges of making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was held at the Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
