Korean Pop Stars Threaten to Sue Sony Over Use of Their Song in 'The Interview’ (VIDEO)

It's no secret that North Korea isn't happy with the release of Seth Rogen and James Franco's new comedy "The Interview" - but the film's impending problems with the country don't stop there.

Korean rappers Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae are reportedly suing Sony Pictures Entertainment for copyright infringement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The husband-and-wife duo claim that their record label, FeelGhoodMusic, was in negotiations with Sony to use her 2007 single "Pay Day" in the film.

However, the two parties never reached an agreement. According to THR, "about 10 to 15 seconds of the song appears in the film."

In a YouTube clip from the film, the song is played while the main characters and a man playing North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un are at a bar with several young half-naked Korean women.

"There were initial discussions about including the song in the film score, but negotiations stopped so we were under the impression that it wasn't happening," read a statement from the duo's record label, as quoted by THR. "It was only after the film was released that we became aware of the song's unauthorized use, without taking the appropriate and necessary steps to complete a contract with the artists."

A representative for the label added, "The artists were also hesitant about authorizing the use of the music, as the film is a very sensitive topic in Korea, so they are very surprised."

Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae's label will take actions against DFSB, an agency which handled the negotiations with Sony.

"The Interview" follows two TV journalists who are sent to assassinate Kim Jong-Un. The film was released in select theaters and arrived on YouTube, Google Play, Xbox Video and Sony's website after a group of hackers threatened to attack theaters that showed the filmed.

The movie is also available on iTunes for purchase at $14.99 or rent at $5.99. Sony revealed that "The Interview" made $15 million over the first four days from digital release.
