Texas' inaugural season under coach Charlie Strong wasn't a huge success, with the program's three-game winning streak ending in their season-finale with a 48-10 loss against TCU. Strong sounded optimistic with his team, though, and appeared confident about the direction they were headed.

"I think following coach (Mack) Brown and the job he did he was unbelievable," Strong said, via ESPN. "I know that and will always respect that. ... I see it turning. We had a stretch there where we won games and then the last game we didn't play so well. ... It's coming, and we just know this. We just got to continue to work hard and good things are going to happen."

Strong, though, has the chance to end his first season at Texas (6-6) on a high note on Monday when they play Arkansas, the state school of his home state.

"I grew up in Arkansas, grew up an Arkansas fan because it's a major university in the state," he said. "So many memorable games. Like I said, the '69 game was an unbelievable game. ... Growing up around it, you just know how big it was and how important it is to so many people. ...

"This is going to be a really good matchup. You look at two teams that started off tough, but we both ended up heading in the right direction. ... You are looking at two teams that really love to run the football, and two defenses that are outstanding."

Arkansas (6-6) also lost their season finale - a 21-14 defeat at Missouri - after stringing together consecutive wins.
