Why Doesn’t Country Star Justin Moore Take Lucrative New Year’s Eve Show Paydays?

Justin Moore is an in-demand performer with hit songs and high-energy live shows. So, why has the singer-songwriter nixed performing on New Year's Eve? Why does he purposely leave Dec. 31 off his tour schedule?

"It's because I like being home with the girls," Moore told KTIC radio. "You know, especially now having three [daughters]. We kind of reserve that time for just our time."

Being home over the holidays is one of the perks of Moore's success on the road.

The country star explains, "We haven't played [in] a while on New Year's. It's been a long time. It's been probably back in the bar days since we played New Year's."

A little bit rowdy, a little bit sentimental, a whole lot of roughneck, the Arkansas native has staked out his place on the country radio charts with three No. 1s--"Small Town USA," "If Heaven Weren't So Far Away" "Til My Last Day," plus the Top 10 "Backwoods."

Moore returns to the road Jan. 15 opening for Miranda Lambert in Evansville, Ind..
