Ivanka Trump on Parenting: Says She Won’t Tolerate Her Daughter Arabella Being ‘Spoiled, Bratty’

Business mogul Ivanka Trump is busy preparing for her second child with husband Jared Kushner but is setting time aside to teach her 23-month-old daughter, Arabella, life lessons, the Daily Mail reports. Trump told US Weekly in an interview that she and her husband are preparing Arabella to welcome a sibling by working with her on sharing.

"We're navigating the sharing thing right now - I think we're, like, 70 percent of the way there," she told US Weekly. "She's really good at telling me I have to share with her. She's less good about actually sharing back."

She said the little girl will offer someone something, which is good, but as soon as they get close she pulls back and says no, especially when food is involved, the busy mom told the magazine. Trump and her husband are expected to welcome their second child in the fall and said her daughter is slowly beginning to open up to the idea. She also revealed to the magazine that her parents, Donald Trump and Ivana Trump, were strict but she doesn't consider her following in their footsteps just yet.

"Arabella isn't even 2, so she hasn't thrown me the challenges of a teenager... but I have a feeling I'm going to pretty strict. My mother laid down pretty concrete guidelines and the concept of 'because I said so' was a totally viable option."

The one thing she said she will be tough on is manners. She knows what it likes to come from an extremely wealthy family who has everything they need but won't let her daughter become selfish or feel entitled.

"The one thing I won't tolerate is her being spoiled and bratty or having poor manners," she added. "That's one area [in which] I'll be very strict."

Trump said her and daughter often bond over fashion with Arabella making the busy mom put her high-heels on her tiny feet so she can stumble around.

Trump already has a handbag, jewelry and shoe line and recently launched a perfume line as well.
