Both teams head into Tuesday's bowl game looking to finish their 2014 campaigns with 10 wins. For Petrino, his 9-3 Cardinals can cap off their inaugural season in the ACC by finishing with double-digit wins for the third straight year and making team history.
"Yeah, we want to get to 10 wins," Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said, via ESPN. "That's certainly something our seniors would be very proud of so they can look back at their career and see the double-digit winning seasons they've had."
Tuesday will be Louisville's fifth straight bowl game, with their only loss happening in the 2011 Belk Bowl against N.C. State. Petrino's first year at Louisville saw the team's defense give up only 93.7 rushing yards per game, something that helped the No. 21 Cardinals come away with some big wins this season.
"Coach Petrino is obviously doing a great job," Georgia coach Mark Richt told his school's website. "From what I'm reading, they are 2-0 versus SEC opponents in bowls. They've won five straight against SEC opponents, and Coach Petrino is 5-1 at Louisville versus SEC teams."
Georgia, meanwhile, had their three-game winning streak snapped in their 30-24 season-finale loss against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs, though, have been great this season on the ground and finished 12th in the FBS in rushing behind running back Nick Chubb's 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns.
"When you watch (the Bulldogs) on film, they're a very good football team," Petrino said. "They've got a really good offensive line, big running, the quarterback (Hutson Mason) has completed 69 percent of his passes and doesn't throw a lot of picks."
