'Shaun of the Dead': Simon Pegg Gives His Blessing for a 'Live' Version of the Classic Film (WATCH IT)

There aren't too many people who don't like "Shaun of the Dead" on some level, and it looks like Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright's 2004 masterpiece will be making a return of sorts in 2015, according to a piece at the Popist.

Pegg has given his blessing for the film to be turned into a play...which sounds like it could be something special and be in the vein of the mother of all cult productions, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

There are already plans in the pipeline for 15 dates in the UK that could turn into a worldwide tour.

The 110-minute show will involve plenty of audience participation with ticket-holders being given a "goodie bag" of props they need to take part and encouraged to dress as zombies or other characters from the film.

It also features music from the original film, but the director Chas Burns insists that it isn't a musical and that the songs in the production will be tongue-in-cheek.

"It's not a musical. Between you and I, I can't abide musicals," said Burns. "It's a production with tongue-in-cheek songs, with some extra stuff thrown in you won't see in the film and deleted scenes that were left on the cutting room floor. I have always stated that if I ever see anyone yawning at one of our productions I will call it a day. It's incredible the interest we've had, people have been waiting for it to happen and we've been lucky enough to find ourselves with the rights."

The audience can also expect some extra elements thrown in you won't see in the film and enactments of deleted scenes that were left on the cutting room floor.

Here's hoping this production makes it across the pond. Check out the promo video for "Shaun of the Dead Live" below:
