Mississippi State (10-2) started the season strong with nine straight wins before losing two of their last three, including their regular-season finale loss at Ole Miss, 31-17. Still, the Bulldogs' record was enough to earn them an invite to the Orange Bowl. As for their sputtering finish to the regular season, Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott believes everything will be fine if the offense can come out the gate fast.

"We've just got to come out and start off fast," he told the Associated Press, via Yahoo. "Every game of the season we've started off fast we've done really well, set the tempo and made the other team play our style, and just have to do the same with Georgia Tech, get up on them and make them play from behind."

Georgia Tech (10-3), meanwhile, had their five-game winning streak snapped in their regular-season finale with a 37-35 loss against No. 2 Florida State. Yellow Jackets coach Paul Johnson, though, is now focused on how his second-ranked rushing offense will find success against the Bulldogs' staunch defense upfront.

"We're going to do what we do and they're going to do what they do," he said. "It's going to be a big challenge for both teams, I think. And it'll probably end up somewhere in the middle."
