California Snowstorm Traps More Than 100 Drivers In Their Vehicles

A southern California snowstorm trapped more than 100 drivers in their vehicles overnight on Friday, ABC News reported.

State Route 38 in the San Bernardino Mountains became a parking lot when dozens of motorists became stranded, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesman Ryan Beckers. The drivers were rescued by emergency crews and taken to a local church.

Mount Baldy, near ski lifts, was were others became trapped in the storm. Those people were provided shelter for the time being.

Highways, including the Ortega that connects Riverside and Orange counties, were closed due to the conditions. Southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway were also closed, My Central Oregon reported.

Motorist Isabel Castellanos said it was difficult to drive in the snowy and slick weather.

"It's really foggy, you can't see much, which I'm used to the fog because I'm from Fresno, but it's just a little different, haven't driven it in a while," she said.
