NASCAR driver Mike Harmon on Monday turned himself in to authorities in North Carolina. Authorities charged Harmon and his business partner with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, the Associated Press reports.
Investigators allege the men stole at least seven vehicles from NASCAR driver Jennifer Jo Cobb, whose racing team Harmon once managed. The charges came after law enforcement officials executed warrants on May 28 at a storage shed in North Carolina and at Harmon's Mooresville, N.C. shop.
The seven vehicles Harmon is accused of stealing include five racing trucks and two race cars, according to CBS Sports. The vehicles, which are believed to belong to Cobb, were found stripped down and without much value. Charges were not initially filed as investigators conferred with the Rowan County District Attorney's Office to determine whether to charge Harmon for the second time in a month.
This isn't the first time Harmon has faced allegations of larceny. He was arrested earlier in May for allegedly stealing Cobb's hauler, which he later denied on Twitter.
"I want it known that I have never stolen so much as a piece of bubble gum in my life," Harmon wrote. "I did not take JCC hauler, there is no video of me anywhere near her shop. Today she was the windshield & I was the bug, but when we get in FEDERAL court in a couple wks there's a boulder coming."
It's unclear whether Harmon has an attorney.
