Georgia Woman Robbed, Shot In Face During First Date With Man She Met Online

A Georgia woman was robbed and shot by a man she was seeing for the first time after they met on a dating website, CBS46 reported.

The 34-year-old victim, from the metro Atlanta area, met her assailant in person at a Waffle House in College park on Dec. 24, police told the station.

The pair left the restaurant and was driving to a hotel when the man, apparently nicknamed "Cash," pulled out a gun and made her pull over. After forcing her to hand over her belongings, he shot her once in the face, police told CBS46.

He tried shooting her again but she fled the vehicle and escaped on foot. Police said the bullet went through her cheek and exited behind her ear, missing her carotid artery by inches.

Investigators said she met "Cash" on a dating site called badoo.com.

"She's very lucky,' Major Ernest Strozier told the station. "When you meet somebody on social media, you don't know who you are meeting. You see a picture of a person but you are not for sure if that is the person or not.

"So, you need to meet them in a public place while people are around."

After the woman escaped, the suspect fled the scene in her black 1999 Jeep Cherokee with her purse and cellphone. As of New Year's Eve he is still at large and a $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest, CBS46 reported.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is at home recovering.
