The Iowa Hawkeyes play the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday in the 2014 Taxslayer Bowl. Kickoff is at 3:20 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream or listen to the radio broadcast via the links provided below.
Iowa (7-5) had an uneven finish to the season, losing three of their last five games, including two straight. Their last two losses of the regular season were close, though, with a 26-24 defeat on Nov. 22 against Wisconsin and a 37-34 loss on Nov. 28 against Nebraska.
"I'm not sure unacceptable would (be) the word I would use," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said, according to ESPN. "We're disappointed, certainly, with the outcome of the last two ball games."
Despite failing to notch a win this season against any FBS team with a record over .500, the Hawkeyes will be making their 12th bowl appearance in 14 seasons. They'll be facing an inexperienced Tennessee team, with the program making their first bowl appearance since 2010.
"It's our job to continue to educate them on the bowl process," said coach Butch Jones. "There isn't anyone who can really step up in a room who has participated in a bowl who can step up and say, 'This is how you handle yourselves.'"
Tennessee (6-6) won three of their last four games, including their 24-17 regular-season finale win against Vanderbilt. While the Vols are satisfied with earning a spot in a bowl game, they aren't thrilled with the manner in which they got there.
"It's hard not to be satisfied with that because that was our goal, to be in a bowl game," Vols offensive lineman Kyler Kerbyson said. "But we look at it as we didn't do it in the prettiest way. It wasn't a nine-win, 10-win season. It was a six-win (season). We just got there. That keeps us level-headed and keeps us humble going in."
