Most people make New Year's resolutions to eat less and exercise more, but Neil Patrick Harris has one more resolution to add to the list.
"It's that time of year when we start thinking about New Year's resolutions. The top three being eat less, exercise more and watch me host the Oscars," Harris says in the latest Oscars promo. "Let's be realistic, you're not going to eat less."
The "How I Met Your Mother" alum will host his first Oscars ceremony in February. A seasoned pro, Harris has hosted four Tony Awards and two Emmy Awards.
In his first Oscars promo, Harris gave a Christmas gift suggestion that everyone could appreciate.
"This holiday season, give your family a gift they'll never forget," he said. "Instead of traditional presents, give them the gift of simply telling them to watch me host the Oscars."
The Oscars gig puts Harris one awards ceremony shy of achieving an EGOT in hosting (he only needs the Grammys). Ellen DeGeneres only needs to host the Tony Awards to complete the circuit. No other person has ever hosted all four big awards shows, but the Grammys might prove Harris' greatest challenge since the awards show sometimes goes without a host.
Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 16.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the Oscars ceremony for a third consecutive year. The 87th Academy Awards will air on Feb. 22 on ABC.
