A New York City man has been arrested for making death threats against the NYPD in two disturbing 911 calls, bringing the number of arrests made for making threats against police since the Dec. 20 killings of two officers close to 20.
Rayshawn Dixon is accused of calling 911 at around 5 a.m. on Dec. 30 and telling the worker he was armed and wanted officers sent to his Manhattan apartment, ABC News reported.
"I got a gun, come here, I'll blow their f------ head off," Dixon said according to court records obtained by the station.
A while later, Dixon allegedly called 911 again saying, "I don't know why you can't come here yet cause I'm dying to kill NYPD. I am waiting for them."
The operator asked Dixon, "How are they supposed to know it's you?"
"They'll figure it out," Dixon replied according to the court records. "They'll see me pull that hammer out, they'll figure it out."
Dixon was arrested Wednesday while walking out of a pizza shop, according to ABC News. He was charged with making terrorist threats and was held on $100,000 bail.
He is the 18th person to be arrested for threatening police since NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were ambushed sitting in their police vehicle and killed by a man who reportedly posted anti-police comments online. The shooter later killed himself.
Ramos, an officer for two years, was laid to rest last Saturday, the station reported. His partner Liu, who got married two months ago, will be buried in the same cemetery as Ramos on Sunday.
