‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ ‘Rogue Cut’ Set To Release This Summer

"X-Men" fans who wanted more from Anna Paquin's Rogue in "Days of Future Past" will have their wish granted in an extended version of the 2014 movie.

Fox Home Entertainment will release the "Rogue cut" of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" this summer. "X-Men" writer-producer Simon Kinberg first announced plans for the new version last fall, according to SlashFilm.com.

"It's a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie. We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film - behind the camera, and in front of it... Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character," Kinberg said in September, according to SlashFilm.

"X-Men" fan Twitter first prompted the update announcement from James Finn, executive vice president of marketing communication for Fox Home Entertainment, on Dec. 15.

Finn also said the Blu-ray and Digital HD versions will have the same release date.

Paquin finished her scenes for "Days of Future Past" early in production, according to SlashFilm. The "True Blood" alum also starred as Rogue in "X-Men: The Last Stand," "X-Men 2" and "X-Men."

The "Rogue cut" will help bridge the gap for "X-Men" fans as they await the next installment, "Apocalypse," which will premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
