A California middle school teacher was arrested last Wednesday on charges of child molestation.
Christopher Millette, a seventh grade teacher at Valadez Middle School in Placentia, allegedly molested a girl under the age of 10, CBS Los Angeles reported. The girl is not a student at the school, Fullerton police said.
Fullerton Sgt. Kathryn Hamel said police were acting on information received about the 36-year-old suspect.
"Detectives followed up on the complaint and arrested Mr. Millette," Hamel said according to the station.
"The victim was known to the suspect, and we do not believe that there are any additional victims related to his employment," Hamel told the Los Angeles Times.
The science teacher was charged with suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 and sexual penetration of a child under the age of 14, the newspaper reported.
He was ordered held on $1 million bail and is expected to appear in court Monday.
