Toby Keith's singer-songwriter daughter Krystal Keith may be coming to your living room, making regular appearances on your television set. Krystal released her debut album in 2013 and she spent the summer of 2014 on the road opening shows for her famous father. Now, here in 2015, Krystal may have her own TV show.
"There are some TV production people taking her to LA. They're trying to cast her in a television show," Toby told Lon Helton of "Country Countdown USA."
"They don't know what they want to do," continued Toby, "but I told them they should do her and her girlfriends, backstage, go to each concert, show people what it's like in each city, then everybody come back to the dressing room, introduce a new song, keep it around music, but do young girls having fun, let's rock!"
Toby really enjoyed having Krystal out on the road with him -- and he says his daughter's personality would be perfect for a TV project.
Of Krystal being on his tour, the "Drunk Americans' singer explained, "It was great! She fits right in, she's been on the road her whole life. She was walking out there on her own when she was three. She's had a mind of her own the whole way.
"That's what they're casting her on TV, everybody from CMT to wherever she's been has said she needs to be in front of the camera. So they're looking at all kinds of shows. There needs to be something to it when people say that. If you can break through those people, you can break through the critical mass."
Krystal is no stranger to TV. She made her national television debut in prime time as a teenager singing "Mockingbird" with her father on a 2004 awards show. And she recently made her Grand Ole Opry debut. She's also been featured on numerous national television programs, including "The Late Show with Craig Ferguson."
Krystal's debut album "Whiskey & Lace" received widespread recognition. Krystal co-wrote three of the album's 10 songs, including the title track. Toby co-produced the album and wrote or co-wrote four of its songs. The first release from the album, "Daddy Dance with Me," which she wrote as a gift to her dad, became a viral smash.
