Selma Blair Exits ‘Anger Management’ after Conflict with Charlie Sheen

There's certainly some anger being vented on the sets of "Anger Management". According to media reports, Selma Blair will not be returning to the show after a flare-up with Charlie Sheen. The development was confirmed by Lionsgate Television, the studio behind the show, in a statement that said, "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to 'Anger Management' and we wish her the very best."

Rumors about a problem brewing between the actors of "Anger Management" started circulating a couple of days ago. TMZ reported that Blair had complained to network executives about Sheen's careless work ethic - she allegedly called him a "menace" to work with. Sheen retaliated by declaring that he had fired Blair - rather than the actual act, it was interpreted as more of a threat that he would refuse to work on the show if she returned, and he seems to have got his way.

Sheen himself was fired from "Two and a Half Men" in 2011 after what was called "dangerously self-destructive conduct" as well as spewing venom at Chuck Lorre, the producer and co-creator of the show. In 2012, Blair, who played Sheen's therapist in 'Anger Management', praised him in an interview with The Guardian. "He had a huge moment last year, but I do think he's a great actor. And he's very present in this - he's been incredibly on it. He's kind and affable and loyal to the people in his life. But you know, I don't think we'll ever know about the stresses someone is under that would make them speak out so loudly," she said.

There didn't appear to be any public conflict this year either going by Blair's tweet on June 10 that said, "Thanks for a great day back @charliesheen. You looked pretty darn handsome."

In an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" in January this year, Sheen, who plays an anger management therapist on the show (which is now in its second season), joked, "There's a door on our set that has a hole in it that I punched through. I couldn't get a line one day and I was so frustrated. The only damage on our set has been done by the therapist." He said that he was still "occasionally" struggling with his anger management issues and is a believer in "getting all that stuff out, but not towards people."
