Melomind Headset Plays Music to Help You Relax

The next biofeedback device comes in the form of a headset from myBrain Technologies called the Melomind, which will come in handy when you want to relax after a long day at work.

The wearable looks like a helmet and comes with four spikes sticking out from the core device, with each spike featuring electrodes for measuring the wearer's brain waves the same way your average electroencephalogram (EEG) would, according to CNET.

An app for Android, iOS and Windows phones comes with the Melomind to collect the data and play custom-created music to take away your stress. Users will be able to keep track of how relaxed they get since the app shows how well they do over time.

Thibaud Dumas, co-founder of myBrain, said at the CES Unveiled press event Sunday that the company worked closely with the Brain and Spine Institute in Paris on the white headset, VentureBeat reported.

"Learning how to relax is not more complicated than learning how to practice sport or music," Dumas said. "This process is based on neuroplasticity, and what is important is to have the correct and efficient 'feedback.'"

MyBrain plans on making the Melomind available for $299 in select U.S. and European retailers by the end of 2015.
