Beyonce's upcoming fifth studio album is going pretty smoothly but Ne-Yo, who is working on the album, gave everyone an update and what they can expect from the album.
According to Billboard, who spoke with Ne-Yo, he revealed some new details behind the former Destiny's Child star's new album.
"I'm still putting stuff together for Beyonce's album," Ne-Yo said. "They're still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I'm not mad at. Beyonce's the kind of artist where you're not gonna see it till it's right. And her fans -- they love her so they'll be patient."
Ne-Yo, along with Ryan Tedder, The-Dream, Sia and many more are working on the new album. The two have worked together before on the 2007 single "Irreplacable."
Ne-Yo is also lending his helping hand to Jay-Z on his brand new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" which is set to be released on the fourth of July. The "Sexy Love" singer is remaining hopeful his songs make the final cut.
"The thing about Jay is again you don't know until it's done," Ne-Yo said. "I went in, I did a session where I laid down a couple hooks but I have no idea what's going to be kept. I heard some of the new stuff. It's amazing. With Jay-Z it's hard not to be amazing."
The singer is planning to begin recording his next studio album, which is slated to be really R&B based unlike most recent music, which contains a lot of EDM. With that said, Ne-Yo is not abandoning the genre but when it comes to R&B.
"I definitely know I need to take care of my core -- the thing that got me here in the first place," he said. "I don't feel like I've given it the attention it deserves."
