4-Year-Old Grace Cantrell Gets New Heart On Her Birthday

One Georgia girl celebrating her birthday in a hospital room got the present at the top of her list - and it wasn't a toy.

Grace Cantrell, who turned 4 today, has been waiting for about nine months for a much-needed heart donor (the average wait is only about two to four months), reported My Fox Atlanta. She finally had her surgery today at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

"This truly was the perfect heart, and has come on the perfect day!" her parents Shauna and Tim Cantrell wrote on Facebook Monday. "It's crazy to think Grace came into this world 4 years ago today, and exactly four years later, she gets to continue her life with her new heart!"
