Marvel is at it again with their ant-sized "Ant-Man" marketing antics. The first thing they released for the movie was an ant-sized teaser trailer, but we eventually got a human-sized preview. Now the studio has released the first official poster for the movie, and a magnifying glass would really come in handy for it. I think this is an amusing marketing campaign that they're running for the film. Sure, some people will find it annoying, but the studio is having fun with the character...and that's nice to see. I'm sure we'll get a more epic poster for the film in the not-too-distance future.
As promised, here's the trailer that was unveiled during "Agent Carter" this evening. And yes, Ant-Man uses a wasp as a mount. Very, very cool. Check it out below:
And here's the magnified Entertainment Weekly magazine cover:
The official synopsis for the film is: "The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' 'Ant-Man.' Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."
The film stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, John Slattery, and Hayley Atwell. It's set to be released on July 17, 2015.
