During Sony's keynote address at CES 2015, popular professional skateboarder and actor Tony Hawk announced that his new console game will be released "later this year" on the PlayStation 4.
He also mentioned that the game is much further along than he had imagined, and while he could not reveal the full title due to an embargo, he hinted at the fact that it will include "TH."
Of course this does not mean that the game will be a PS4 exclusive. The announcement was made at Sony's conference, so the PS4 was the only platform explicitly mentioned, but no exclusivity deal was clearly specified. Considering the nature of the title, it will almost certainly be a multi-platform game.
The Tony Hawk series of games was wildly popular in the late '90s and early 2000s, selling upwards of 30 million copies worldwide. The series popularity has waned in recent years due to a couple sub-par and motion based titles that just didn't work. Here's hoping this new game will recapture some of that "Hawk" magic once again.
HNGN will keep you updated as soon as any further information will be disclosed by Activision. Thanks to VG 24/7 for the heads up.
