The winner of Thursday's bout advances to the final. Whoever wins meets on Sunday the winner of the South Africa versus England semifinal. India is at the top of Group B with six points after winning all three matches played in the tournament, according to IB Times. Beating South Africa by 26 runs, West Indies by eight wickets and rivals Pakistan by eight wickets has made India the favorite to win on Thursday.
Despite losing by one wicket to New Zealand in the opener, Sri Lanker bounced back to earn a spot in the semifinals by defeating England by seven wickets and Australia by 20 runs. After the surprising win on Monday against the two-time champions Australia, Sri Lanka has proven they can upset any team.
India and Sri Lanka have met 139 times, in which India has won 75 of the matches. The teams played each other twice in the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy final but both matches ended in no-results. India is 7-2 against Sri Lanka in their previous 10 matches.
IB Times predicts India to win.
