‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star LL Cool J Hosting ‘Lip Sync Battle’ On Spike TV

Spike TV announced LL Cool J will host the new series "Lip Sync Battle" inspired by the recurring sketch on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Much like the sketch, the show will feature celebrities competing to best lip-synch their favorite songs. John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant along with Krasinski's wife Emily Blunt first created the game that Fallon later debuted as host of NBC's "Late Night" in 2013.

Krasinski and Merchant will serve as two of the producers for the show.

"Like the rest of the world, I'm a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level," LL Cool J said in a press release. "I'm thrilled to be working with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant and the entire team to host the show and can't wait for the fans at home to join in!"

LL Cool J, born James Todd Smith, currently stars on the CBS drama "NCIS: Los Angeles." The rapper is a two-time Grammy winner and has released 13 studio albums.

"Icon, Grammy Winner and one of the best hosts in the game, LL COOL J will bring a whole new fan base of music lovers to the show. We have the dream team in front of and behind the camera on Lip Sync Battle and we're ready to BRING IT for our fans" said Casey Patterson Executive Producer/Executive Vice President Talent Development and Production, Viacom Entertainment Group.

Actress Emma Stone arguably gave the best lip sync performances on "The Tonight Show." She performed the songs "Hook" by Blues Traveler and "All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled.
