Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Going To Meet Pope Francis

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are heading to Rome for a special meeting with the head of the Catholic Church.

Jolie arrived ahead of her husband Pitt in Italy "for a VIP meet-and-greet at the Vatican with Pope Francis," a source told Us Weekly. The 39-year-old actress landed at Ciampino Airport in Rome on Wednesday afternoon with the couple's two children Shiloh, 8, and Zahara, 9.

Neither Jolie nor Pitt identifies with a particular religion, but they do "admire the Pope," a friend of the couple told Us Weekly. They also "like the Pope's message," which has proved much more progressive than his predecessors.

The Hollywood A-list couple aren't the first celebrities to meet the Pope Francis. Steve Coogan visited the Vatican with Philomena Lee early last year while promoting his new film about Lee, "Philomena."

Russell Crowe and director Darren Aronofsky briefly met The Holy Father during his weekly general address at the Vatican last March. Crowe tweeted his thanks to the pope for his blessing.
