Khan Bonfils, 'Star Wars' Actor, Dies During Play Rehearsal At 42

Khan Bonfils, an actor who appeared in films such as "Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menance" and "Skyfall," died on Thursday while practicing for a play in London at the age of 42, CBS News reported.

While rehearsing "Dante's Inferno," Bonfils collapsed and was unable to be brought back to consciousness by theater staff or paramedics.

The Craft Theatre Company made a statement about his death on their Twitter account, calling it a tragedy. The reason for his death is still unknown.

"The entire company is in shock. There is absolutely severe sadness, it is a real tragedy," company spokesman Chris Hislop said, according to the BBC.

"Dante's Inferno" will be on schedule with a different actor from the company playing Bonfils' part.

"It was due to open on Thursday. If things go to plan and if the incoming actor is able to do the job we are hoping to open on Saturday,'' Hislop said.

In 2012 Bonfils played a henchman in "Skyfall" and also played the role of Isagura in 1997's Bond movie, "Tomorrow Never Dies." In "Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menance," he played Jedi master Saesee Tiin.

The actor also appeared in "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and "Batman Begins."
