As the iPhone 5s launch approaches (rumors point to an October announcement) one thing about the appearance seems more and more likely—it will be ridiculously similar to the iPhone 5, according to GottaBeMobile.com.
Currently it seems Apple could be focusing on the iOS 7 update for the 5s in addition to a couple small changes.
Many may be disappointed at Apple’s lack of enthusiasm when it comes to producing a phone with a brand new design. However, this move by Apple may be a good idea.
Apple has followed this model every since the iPhone 3G. The 3G and 3Gs looked alike, the 4 and 4s looked alike and the 5 and 5s will probably look alike. This method gives Apple the chance to stretch the life of the iPhone to four years—maintain the same design for two years and selling the older phone for two years. There’s also a greater chance for the creation of more accessories for the phone. For example, the iPhone 4 has way more accessories than the Galaxy S2.
Earlier this week, FanaticFone leaked an alleged image of an iPhone 5S display. The phone had an LCD screen and a digitizer.
Macotakara showed a supposed picture of the iPhone 5s logic board.
Nowhereelse.fr is among the group of publications that have displayed leaked photos showing minor changes to the iPhone 5s’ design.
AppleInsider showed some iPhone 5s blueprints which hinted at what they called “a dual-LED flash for greater brightness.” (Apple Insider also provided possible blue-prints for a cheaper version of the iPhone.)
The iPhone 5s is expected to launch in September although reports say there were some production issues with the phone and it may not debut until October. It is expected to feature a new camera and faster processor.
