Lena Dunham has given Taylor Swift an open invitation to join the cast of "Girls."
Dunham, the creator and star of the hit show, is back in the fourth season and she would really like to see her close pal Swift as a member of the cast.
It's been rumored before that the country star-turned-pop singer would be appearing in a cameo role on the TV show, but that has yet to materialize.
"Taylor's one of my best friends. If she ever wanted to come, we would be overjoyed to have her!" Lena gushed to ET Online at the Golden Globes, music-news.com reported.
"We have no official plans, but let's just say she's welcome anytime!" Dunham said of Swift. "She's pretty busy taking over the planet right now."
Swift is not new to acting. The "Blank Space" singer has already had a taste of movies and television, having appeared in the movie "Valentine's Day" and the TV shows "New Girl" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
In discussing acting, Swift told ET Online, "That's always something that's in the back of my mind, if the right thing came along."
Who knows? Maybe "Girls" is that "right thing."
