CBS daytime talk show "The Doctors" may be losing one of its cast members soon. Dr. James (Jim) Sears will be reportedly leaving the show soon after he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, according to TMZ.
Sources told TMZ that an unidentified woman was at Sears' Huntington Beach, Calif., home last month when she started to feel "uneasy" and asked her ex to pick her up. Supposedly, Pete Scalisi drove to Sears' home to get the woman but the TV star flew into a rage.
TMZ claims that Sears drove to Scalisi's house, chased him through a gate and started screaming "I'm going to kill you." The source said Sears also accused the man of kidnapping his girlfriend. Scalisi filed a police report against Sears for allegedly making criminal threats.
The doctor has denied that he will be leaving the show but sources told TMZ that his exit should be announced any day now. Cops are currently investigating the incident but haven't spoken with Sears because they reportedly can't find him.
Sears' lawyer denied the report to the Daily Mail, saying his client "did not threaten anyone's life and is not resigning from 'The Doctors.'" CBS has not commented on the alleged incident, but Sears took to Facebook to squash the allegations.
"In response to today's TMZ article, as well as those other media outlets, I want to make it clear that the allegations made against me are complete fabrications and contrary to who I am both personally and professionally," he wrote. "I never threatened to kill anyone, nor am I resigning from 'The Doctors.' As one can imagine, these false allegations have caused me considerable distress, and I want to thank my fans and loved ones for their continued support."
"The Doctors" launched in 2008 and features a panel of medical professionals discussing a range of health-related topics.
