Country superstar Taylor Swift is known for writing vengeful love songs about her former flames and ex-boyfriends, and recently Abercrombie & Fitch is under fire from fans for poking fun at the singer's amount of high-profile boyfriends with a new t-shirt, FOX News reports.
The popular brand was selling a shirt that bears the text: "#more boyfriends than t.s.," the t.s. short for Taylor Swift, whose fans were outraged at the design. They created a petition on Change.org rallying for the brand to remove the offending product from their stores, in addition to leaving angry voicemails to the company's corporate office.
"It's not funny, it's shows how out-of-touch Abercrombie is," one fan commented on the Chanrge.org petition. "I like Taylor, she is a total class act."
"This is the new [slut-shaming]. Now you can be labeled this way for having a few boyfriends," another fan wrote. The petition has reached 100 signatures so far.
When Buzzfeed called Abercrombie's corporate office, they received the following greeting: "Thank you for calling Abercrombie & Fitch public relations. If you are calling regarding the Taylor Swift t-shirt, please note this is no longer available."
One Youtube user, Chelsea Nicole, filmed a video of herself recording a voicemail message to the company, giving her opinion on the product. "It was the most childish thing I have ever seen in my entire life," she said.
A spokesperson for Abercrombie says the company "set the shirt at the end of February, marked it down in the middle of March and it is no longer available."
On the company's official Twitter, the brand declared that Taylor Swift is "awesome."
"Hey #swifties we no longer sell the tshirt," they tweeted recently. "We <3 Taylor's music and think she's awesome!"
