The latest issue of the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, sold out within minutes this morning, according to NBC News. It is the first edition since masked gunmen killed 12 people last week at an editorial meeting. The newest edition of the magazine features a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad on the cover. Muhammad is depicted holding a "Je Suis Charlie" sign under the caption "All Is Forgiven" while a tear runs down his face.
A record 3 million copies were printed - more than 50 times the normal circulation of 600,000, according to The New York Times. The special 16-page edition includes 57 cartoons, including cartoons by the staff members who were killed last week and has been published in various languages, including English.
"I am not worried about the cover because people are intelligent," said Renald Luzier, the cartoonist who drew the cover image, according to NBC News.
