Since "Fifty Shades of Grey" has officially announced that Sam Taylor-Wood will be directing the highly anticipated movie, casting should (hopefully!) be announced soon. But since there has been no official word on who play Christian Grey or Anastasia Steele, fans are left to speculate on who has the look, skills and talent to pull off the role. In recent Christian Grey news Val Chmerkovskiy and David Gandy were thrown into the rumor mill. Neither one have acting skills but it was determined that they are both very nice to look at it. Chmerkovskiy even told Enstars that he would be up to playing the lead male role.
"I've read a few passages from the first book and thought it was pretty extreme, graphic writing, but to be honest, I'd be more comfortable in this role than some others," he told Enstars. "I would be honored to play Christian."
He even gave a suggestion as to who he would like to see play Steele if he was cast - Rachel McAdams. McAdams has been brought up a few times to play Steele but she is not a top contender like Alexis Bledel, Emilia Clarke and Ashley Benson. But there have been two new names thrown into the running to play Steele - Melissa Benoist and Kristin Kreuk.
Kreuk is better known as Lana from the show "Smallville." Her name surprisingly hasn't come up that much but she is actually a really choice for Steele. Just like the other contenders she has the look - from the dark hair, to the light eyes and definitely the innocent look. Fans seem to want her paired with fan-favorite Ian Somerhalder and even created a fan-made trailer starring the two of them.
