Authorities continue to investigate the homicide of Odin Lloyd, the man whose body was discovered near the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. As the investigation continues Lloyd's family is demanding answers, according to ESPN.com.
According to family members, Lloyd was not one to be in trouble with the law. Therefore, there are a number of things they don’t understand about the case.
"I want the person that killed my son to be brought to justice," said Ursala Ward, Lloyd’s mother. "That's my first-born child, my only boy child, and they took him away from me. ... I wouldn't trade him for all the money in the world. And if money could bring him back I would give this house up to bring my son back. Nothing can bring my son back."
Despite the family’s confusion, they said they are seeing progress within the case.
Hernandez has been at the center of public conversation during the investigation. USA Today Sports reported the police were in possession of surveillance footage showing Hernandez and Lloyd together early Monday morning. Monday was the day Lloyd’s body was found not far from Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Mass. According to the Boston Globe, police say Lloyd was found in the same location he was killed.
Police have searched rental cars registered to Hernandez and his house. Investigators linked Hernandez to Lloyd because one of the rental cars were found near Lloyd's body.
This morning there were reports that a warrant for his arrest had been filed for obstruction of justice. However, a county clerk said no warrants for Hernandez’s arrest had been issued.
He is also being sued for allegedly shooting a friend in the face.
