After a quick hiatus from the social media site, the 28-year-old former child star returned to Twitter on Tuesday and posted a close-up selfie of half of her face, showing her green eyes and brunette locks.
Bynes opted not to caption her first selfie of the New Year.
The "Easy A" actress was last active on Twitter on Christmas Day when she posted a selfie showing off her newly-dyed brown hair. She captioned the photo, "Merry Christmas."
Just before the holidays, sources told TMZ that she was off all medications including Adderall, and was lucid and stable. Bynes' parents have given her limited access to her bank accounts, and the actress reportedly spends her time reading, doing yoga, meditation and doing stress-relieving activities.
Bynes recently took a tour of the University of Southern California campus, and is reportedly thinking of enrolling as a student in psychotherapy, according to E! News.
"She was on a tour, came in and she was just looking around the cafeteria," the source said. "She was on a cart tour. She was dressed super casually, but she had her big sunglasses on. She was with just a tour guide and an assistant-type of person. I could tell she was really low key about it all.
"It was hard to tell if she was happy/excited to be there because of the sunglasses, she was covering the side of her face at a point but nothing too dramatic."
