Four teenagers in Kansas are facing murder charges after they shot and killed a gun store owner during a robbery gone wrong on Friday, the New York Daily News reported.
Bloodshed began at the She's A Pistol shop just after 2 p.m. and left Jon Bieker, 44, dead and three of the four others injured.
Hakeem Willie Malik, 18, Nicquan Ke-Aaron Midgyett, 19, Londro Emanuel Patterson III, 19, and Deanthony Armond Wiley, 19, were charged with felony murder on Sunday.
The three injured are being treated for gunshot wounds, while Malik - the only one who wasn't shot - appeared in court Monday afternoon.
The tragedy began when the four men tried to rob the store, which markets to female gun owners, at gunpoint. Bieker's wife, Rebecca, was assaulted and punched while her husband was killed. It's not yet clear who fired back and struck the men.
A friend of the store owners called them heroes, according to Fox 4.
"This story is about the American dream of having a passion and living it day to day, being in love, living a life and someone deciding they want something that's yours and you died protecting your beliefs. They're heroes in my book," said Sharon Ouck.
The gun-owning community and the Kansas State Rifle Association also set up a fund to help pay for funeral expenses for Jon Bieker.
