Superstar Jennifer Lopez accepted the 2,500th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, accepting the honor on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the W Hotel, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The singer wore a white cashmere top and long coral satin skirt by Dior Couture, keeping her hair pinned back in an updo and accepting her coveted award with only a few tears during her speech.
"I cried like almost 15 thousand times," she told the Associated Press after the ceremony. "It was so crazy. But I kept promising everybody I wasn't going to cry and they were like, 'Cry!' 'You're not helping!' But it was an amazing moment."
"From this day forward, 'Jenny from the Block' has a new address," said a Hollywood Walk of Fame spokesperson during the ceremony, referencing Lopez's hit song and humble beginnings which sparked her nickname.
Lopez brought her two 5-year old twins, Max and Emme, along with her boyfriend Casper Smart to the event. She called it a "landmark day" for her and her family.
Lopez also invited several people who had made a profound impact on her life and career, including "Living Color" co-star Keenen Ivory Wayans. "I actually knew 'Jenny from the Block' when she still lived on the block," he said during the ceremony. "And I remember visiting her apartment in the Bronx, meeting her mother and her sister."
Jane Fonda, her "Monster-in-Law" co-star was also in attendance, cracking several jokes at the star's expense, as well as rapper Pitbull, who thanked Lopez for being a teacher and role model to him, and her longtime manager Benny Medina.
