India faces England on Sunday in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy Final. The match begins at 5:30 a.m. ET (3 p.m. IST). Watch the live stream HERE or tune to Star Sports.
Both teams are coming off convincing semifinal wins to reach the tournament final, IB Times reports. While England has home field advantage, India is the favorite to win on Sunday. India's batting lineup has played excellently, and their bowling and fielding has been solid throughout.
India, undefeated in the tournament, beat Sri Lanka in the semifinals by eight wickets. Their convincing semifinal win was part of a great run, including defeating South Africa in the opener by 26 runs and both West Indies and rival Pakistan by eight wickets each.
England, which has never won an ICC Champions Trophy, will have its hands full with India. Still, England has played well enough to get to the final. They beat South Africa by seven wickets in the semifinal; they beat Australia by 48 runs in the opener, lost to Sri Lanka by seven wickets and defeated New Zealand by 10 runs.
India has traditionally fared better in the past against England, winning 46 and losing 35 in its 86 meetings with England. Despite the record, England has usually prevailed at home, going 18-11 in their 33 meetings at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The teams have met on two occasions in the ICC Champions Trophy and India won both times.
IB Times predicts India to win the trophy.
