Teresa Giudice's lawyer wants people to stop buying into those "bogus stories" about his client.
In a new interview with E! News, Giudice's lawyer, James Leonard, Jr., slammed rumors that the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star is having a hard time in prison. He is allegedly threatening to take legal action against tabloids publishing false stories.
"The misinformation being published by various media outlets regarding my client and the details of her incarceration are blatantly false," he told E! News. "Whoever is buying these bogus stories, you're wasting your money; whoever is reading them, you're reading pure fiction; and whoever is selling them, legal action will be taken."
The 42-year-old reality star began her 15-month sentence on Jan. 5 at Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut. Giudice could be released on Feb. 5, 2016, which is two months before her original release date, according to US Weekly.
Several reported that the Bravo star was unhappy with her food and is "going through withdrawal while incarcerated due to an alleged prescription pill addiction," according to E! News.
Despite rumors of Giudice's unpleasant incarceration, Leonard said Giudice is dong fine and "is keeping to herself."
He added, "She has told me repeatedly that she is doing fine and that she is appreciative of the support she has gotten from her fans. She asks everyone to respect her privacy and that of her family during the coming weeks and months and she looks forward to being reunited with Joe and her girls."
Giudice's husband, Joe Giudice, unfortunately missed his scheduled visit over the weekend, but Leonard claimed that the missed meeting was because of "scheduling issues and paperwork."
"There was an issue getting [Joe] approved," a source said, according to E! News. "Because he's a co-defendant in Teresa's case, extra steps have to be taken to get him approved to visit her. The process is in the works but it wasn't done in time for last weekend."
