A trade between the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Clippers to swap guards Ramon Sessions and Jordan Farmar reportedly is almost complete, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.
It's uncertain who else or what else is included in the potential trade, but the principle pieces of the deal are Sessions and Farmar. According to Kyler, the deal is almost finished.
"... (The) Clippers look to be adding a few new faces and could also be trading for a third. There have been reports that the Clippers are closing in on a deal that would send point guard Jordan Farmar to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for guard Ramon Sessions," Kyler wrote Thursday morning. "This one seems almost complete, and is likely waiting on the other transactions on the table to fall into place."
The Sessions-Farmar swap was first reported earlier in the week by Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.
"Kings looking to make a deal. No blockbuster but Ramon Sessions could be on the move," Jones tweeted Tuesday. "Jordan Farmar a possible target, per source."
It's uncertain, however, if the reported completion of a three-team trade involving the Clippers on Thursday will affect the possible Sessions-Farmar deal. ESPN reported Los Angeles now plans to waive Farmar in the wake of a three-team deal completed on Thursday.
Los Angeles, the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns reportedly scheduled a trade call with the league office for Thursday afternoon. The deal, according to ESPN, includes: Celtics guard Austin Rivers to Los Angeles, Clippers guard Reggie Bullock to Phoenix and Clippers swingman Chris Douglas-Roberts and and Suns forward Shavlik Randolph to Boston.
Clippers coach and president Doc Rivers reportedly has been trying to trade for his son, Austin, since Boston acquired him in a three-team deal over the weekend that sent Celtics forward Jeff Green to Memphis.
The NBA trade deadline is on Feb. 19.
