'True Blood' Recap - 'The Sun' Bill Sees a Fiery Future Ahead

*******SPOILER ALERT*******

Normally we would never consider asking you to click away from HNGN to go elsewhere but we really must insist, if you haven't watched this past Sunday's episode of "True Blood" you're not going to want to keep reading. Not only are there scary stories about Vampires and Werewolves but there are even more frightening spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

The episode opens with Sookie sleeping but definitely having some sort of nightmare. Then it cuts to a bridge and a crazy looking vampire who looks kind of like the 1980's WWF Superstar the Undertaker, but with an enormous beard appears out of some sort of portal in mid-air.

Jason is driving in the middle of the night when he is about to run over an old man, the old man then uses some sort of light power to stop the car. He explains to Jason that he is his "f**king faery grandfather" while Jason has a gun pointed at him, the two take off together in the station wagon.

Tara is screaming in pain on the pool table of Fangtasia. It turns out that when she was shot last week it was with a special type of bullet, hence her not just healing and walking it off. Eric pulls the bullet out with a broken beer bottle (ick) and finds out that it is a silver bullet that emits UV light, essentially it burns a vampire up from the inside. Eric is especially angry at his discovery of this and announces that if humans want war he'll give them war.

Jessica wakes up to a terrified Bill who has been crying as his whole face is covered with blood. He keeps repeating that he can feel the pain of every vampire. He passes out with his eyes open and goes into some sort of trance.

In Bill's dream sequence he asks Lilith if he is a god, he is not. She tells him some ominous details about how "events have been set in motion" but is for the most part very vague.

Arlene freaks out because, as usual, she is the only waitress working at Merlotte's. She calls Sookie to yell at her and Sookie says she is on the way. Then Arlene and Terry see a pregnant woman enter the bar and have another little fit. Terry tries to talk to her but can't really find the words so Arlene convinces the woman that her husband has left her, it is abundantly obvious that something else had happened to him though.

While Sookie is walking to work she sees a guy calling for help in the woods. She tries to ignore it since these kind of things happen to her pretty often and never lead to anything good, but her conscience gets the best of her and she goes back to help him. He says that he has been attacked by vampires. The two are able to communicate telepathically and he says that he is a faery and Sookie takes him home to patch him up.

A group of people who say they are from L.A. show up at Merlotte's asking for Sam. One of the members of the group, a girl named Nicole, tells Sam that she knows he is a shifter. They go into the back and talk. Nicole tries to convince him to come out to the world as a shifter and makes a really messy comparison to the American civil rights movement. Sam refuses and sends her on her way.

Jessica orders a woman from "Human Edibles" for Bill. She assumes that his trance might be caused by him being hungry. Bill is still in his trance and does not respond to the woman at all, then all of a sudden she starts going into convulsions. Her body twists and bends in ways that it was never intended to and then all of her blood comes out of her mouth and goes directly into Bill's mouth. It is clear that Bill is far more powerful than he was before. Jessica screams in the corner as she witnesses this.

Sookie goes for a walk with the patched up faery, whose name is Ben, showing him the way to a safe place for faeries. Ben hits on her a little bit and she explains that now would not be a good time for her to get involved with anyone. Ben then asks who Bill is and they part ways.

Sheriff Andy is running around in a field with four kids, who apparently are faeries, running around him screaming and playing. Andy keeps yelling that he can't take care of the "damn faery kids," which is pretty hilarious.

Jason and his faery grandfather are at the house looking for the portal that Warlow tried to come through. The grandfather finds it and jumps in it. Jason also tries to do so and falls flat on his face. When the faery grandfather reappears he has some very bad news, Warlow has gotten out.

Eric goes to see Governor Burrell. In order to get in he steals the clothes off of someone much shorter than him, his pants only go to about mid-calf when he wears them to go see the governor. While talking to the governor about wildlife Eric tries to glamor him. The governor reveals that he's wearing contact lenses that make that impossible, a SWAT team comes in and is told to take Eric to "the camp."

The faery grandfather explains to Sookie and Jason that Warlow has gotten out and he is intent on coming after the Stackhouse family. He shows Sookie a way to use her powers to make a special weapon that will be able to kill him, but she will only be able to use it one time and afterwards she won't have any faery powers.

Outside of the Governor's Mansion Eric is completely surrounded by the SWAT team. He then flies straight up to get away from them. They seem baffled by his ability to fly.

Sam arrives home where Lafayette has been babysitting Emma. Alcide shows up to take Emma back to his pack. They get in a fight and Sam is beaten up for somewhere around the 10,000th time on the show. While they drive off we see that the group from L.A. that had been at Merlotte's is filming the entire altercation from the bushes.

Eric flies up to the window of the Governor Burrell's daughter, who has just taken her contact lenses out. Eric glamours her and is invited in.

Jessica starts praying to try and get Bill to snap out of his trance. She prays for God to protect all of her friends, while doing so the scene cuts to whatever each character mentioned is up to. Finally Bill wakes up from his trance. On the television they see the vampires being hurt that he had talked about before going into the trance, Bill and Jessica realize he can see the future. Bill then says what he had just seen, that they are all going to burn. Roll credits.

Overall this was a pretty good episode but it was a bit heavy handed at times. The appearance of Ben seemed a bit forced. We all know that Sookie is going to have some sort of love interest but their scenes together really didn't work, it seemed far too formulaic. Hopefully there will be some sort of twist and Ben isn't intended to be a love interest at all.

Andy being frustrated is consistently one of the best things about "True Blood" through the entire run of the show. There is just something about the gruff voice of actor Chris Bauer and the way that he seems constantly baffled by everything that is happening to him. Sure, his storylines never seems to be very important and mostly for comic relief, but they are always enjoyable.

With Governor Burrell trying to eliminate all of the vampires with his fancy new weapons and the appearance of Warlow going after the Stackhouses the show seems to be gearing up for a season that may end badly for many of the shows long time characters. While for the most part "True Blood" tends not to kill off its characters permanently it appears as if they are planning to do so at some point this year. Be prepared for what may be a very bloody season ahead.
