Greg Plitt, a workout guru and star of Bravo's "Work Out" and "Friends to Lovers?", died Saturday night (Jan. 17) after he was struck by a commuter train. According to Reuters, the 37-year-old was allegedly filming on the tracks when he was hit by the train in Burbank, Calif. Plitt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the reality star was among three people filming what presumably was a workout video on a fenced-off section of railroad tracks. The other two people, who have not been identified, were not injured. According to TMZ, a witness said that Plitt had a camera in his hand and tripped over the tracks. Police do not believe it was suicide.
"This is a very sad tragedy," Bravo tweeted. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Greg's family and friends."
The fitness enthusiast had filmed workout scenes on railroad tracks in the past, but Sgt. Scott Meadows told People magazine that a filming permit had not been issued.
"We couldn't take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on 'Work Out' - was as nice as he was beautiful," Bravo's Andy Cohen tweeted. "Seemed invincible, like Superman."
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Greg's family and friends," "Friends to Lovers?" posted on Facebook.
