As Kate Middleton prepares to give birth to the royal baby next month, the Duchess of Cambridge is making a number of special purchases and preparations, according to E! News.
According to "Good Morning America," the Duchess visited a number of posh baby boutiques and stores in search for a number of new elegant and sophisticated items that reflect her own personal style. So far, Middleton has selected a number of neutral color palettes revolving around herringbone brown, and has apparently been price-conscious in her selections. She is reportedly preparing two nurseries, one at Kensington Palace and one at her parent's estate in the small community of Bucklebury.
So far it is known that Middleton has purchased a sweet Moses basket (retailed at around $500) and a Bugaboo's jewel blue chameleon stroller accented with black and white stripes, part of a high-end stroller line that is a favorite of celebrity fans such as Sienna Miller and Kate Hudson. According to royal contributor Victoria Murphy, Middleton's nursery style is similar to her own personal style, favoring elegance and clean, simple lines. Middleton has been spotted in London searching for rugs, drapes and throw pillow, but royal contributors tell "Good Morning America" not to expect the Duchess to go crazy on her purchases or buy any ostentatious "baby bling" currently on the market.
Although the sex of the royal baby is yet unknown, Middleton teased a possible girl by wearing a pink Alexander McQueen coat at the Queen's Trooping of the Colour ceremony, her final public appearance before giving birth.
The Duchess is expected to spend time with her mother, Carol, following the birth of her baby.
Most recently, Middleton was forced to pull out of a big society wedding for Thomas Van Straubenzee and the Duke of Northumberland's daughter, Lady Melissa Percy, due to fear of going into early labor. Middleton was reportedly "gutted" she could not attend the big event, but her husband Prince William was in attendance.
